Arlo’s Gone- A – Roving

Arlo has run away with two lovely English Back Packers, Hannah and Kelly.  He left home this afternoon with the promise of more life on the highways and byways.  We put him up on Gumtree and were inundated (five enquiries in four hours).  I was of course mortified when one prospective buyer wanted to load him up, attach a trailer and have him haul goods out west……I mean, please……Arlo is not meant for a life in shackles.  He is a gypsy, a free spirit!!!!

So my sadness at his leaving is tempered by the happiness I feel knowing that he is off north to Cairns shortly. After his trip with us into the middle of Aus he will now be taking a break along the Queensland coast, soaking up some rays and idling his days away by the seaside. And we sold him for only $400 less than we paid!!!! He really is a treasure!!!!

I have also included here some photos of our new home. They are fairly ordinary as they were taken at the rear car park of the painter’s workshop. They do show off his lovely blue colour and while the décor is early laminex (particularly in the bathroom), we love the timber fixtures and fittings. I even went out today and bought two mattress toppers……it’s all happening!!! Settlement is now 6thJuly (ten days earlier). He has lots of solar power and batteries and quite a roomy fridge. I love the patterned seat covers and he is lovely and light with the curtains opened (I think the full length mirrored door on the shower makes him feel bigger as well).

  1. Oh what a lovely colour.... and there will be no sneaking up on us...cos we will see you coming. I once lived in a caravan ... and let me tell you the very best part-- housework. I could whip around and have everything looking emaculate even Mr Sheen-ed the walls.
Which way are you heading after the 6th ... chasing Arlo to make sure he is being treated ok, straight to show off the Smurf (hehehe) to the kids, or just chasing the sun like the real grey nomads.
Or will you both be so exhausted --the first motor park you find for an extended relaxing sundower.
    Cheers...me and me dogs.

    1. We have no itinerary - how wonderful to be able to say that!!! We will just come with the dust and go with the wind. Of course we may pop by once every year or so to get you to Mr Sheen our walls.
